Pelt Silicone Paddle By Tantus - Onyx

The Pelt is an oval shaped paddle with smooth, rounded edges and a classic grip handle. The smaller, shorter design allows for more precise targets with impact control. The Pelt's paddle face is flexible, holding the kinetic energy, as it's welded. The impact will engorge the area, creating surface and deep muscle sensitivity. Our 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone is easy to completely and hygienically clean, making this a unique impact toy.

Silicone transmits and enhances energy, providing an equal distribution of sensation when used. As opposed to a conventional paddle, such as leather, which will dampen the overall stimulating factors. The silicone makes these paddles great for power exchange, whether it's a simple caress against the skin, or an adrenalizing smack. - Metis Black, Tantus Founder & President

Great Paddle, Just Not for Beginners

Posted by Nanook (Kansas City, KS)

Texture and material construction: The Pelt is made of Tantus premium, medical grade silicone and is a little over 11.5 inches long, 3.25" wide, and about a quarter-inch thick. The paddle has the smooth feel typical of Tantus silicone with no seams, cracks, or other manufacturing flaws. Review Details: The Tantus Pelt is an unassuming looking paddle. It isn’t overly large and it shaped almost like an oversized hair brush. It is very comfortable to hold but it is lightweight and it has much more flex than a leather paddle of the same size. The Pelt almost seems like it wouldn’t be an effective paddle but my opinion changed quickly once I felt the first blow on my butt. The silicone of the Pelt delivers a pretty aggressive sting even from pretty mild blows and it is much sharper than a leather or wood paddle of the same size. The blows it delivers are pretty stinging and not as thudding as I expected from a paddle that is fairly large. The silicone has a moderate amount of flex and it is effective in delivering a rapid succession of light blows using the flex of the silicone to get a good rhythm going. The pelt is probably not a good first paddle as it is way too easy to deliver a blow that will really hurt. However if you are looking for a more aggressive paddle this is a really nice choice. Personally, my wife tends to be a little timid with the force she will use to spank me so putting the Pelt in her hands helps her turn my bottom a lovely shade of pink.

    Be Gentle

Texture and material construction: The Pelt Paddle by Tantus is a solid silicone paddle created for spanking during impact sex play. The paddle is a little less than 12 inches long and just over 3 inches wide. Regarding girth, the body of the paddle is ¼ inches thick and the girth of the handle is ½ inches thick. It is an oval shaped paddle (kind of like a thin paddle ball without the ball) with smooth flat edges. Although the paddle is comfortable to hold, it would be even more so if the edges on the handle were rounded out more. The flat edges work on the body of the paddle because it allows the entire surface to make contact with the skin. If the edges were rounded it would decrease the surface area slightly. However, when it comes to the handle, the flat sides create squared edges that poke into your hand. If they rounded them out more so that the handle was a flat oval shape, there would be less discomfort for the person wielding it. This paddle has a matte finish, which is nice because it allows for a bit more friction when it makes contact; however, its silky smooth to the touch. Almost powdery feeling. When it comes to sensation this paddle has a very bitter/sweet dichotomy happening. Regarding range of motion, the Pelt is very flexible. With very little effort you can bend the body of the paddle so that the tip touches the base of the handle. The handle of the paddle is also flexible but less so than the body. The handle can bend but the thickness provides it with the stability one needs to control the intensity of the paddle’s connection. Now, in spite of this toys flexibility, it is very resilient. Upon completion of a smack it always returns to a nearly straight position. It droops a little when held horizontally but it’s slight. The resilience combined with the flexibility and solidness of this silicone makes for one serious spanking instrument. It can be extremely painful if you’re not careful. A light flick of the wrist produces a nice surface sting. But with a little more weight behind your swing you can produce a deep thuddy pain with the sting on top. With the practice this paddle can produce a range of sensations. And because it pure premium silicone, you can clean it really easily. Wash it with soap and water and you’re done. Plus, even though silicone normally collects a ton of lint, I honestly haven’t found that to be a problem with the Pelt, which was a pleasant surprise. Review Details: Good gravy this thing smarts. I really shouldn’t be surprised by this. I read and watched a ton of reviews about the Tantus Paddles and all of them warned they that are not for beginners. However, I love Tantus pretty much everything and when I saw the Pelt on sale I said to myself “Meh. How bad could it be?” Yah I got my answer. This thing is wicked. Even the slightest flick of the wrist produces a vibrant sting. I was not prepared. It took me a good while to figure out how to wield it without causing too much pain. Because it has a good bit of flexibility and flop to it, it is really easy to get carried away. If you’re going to use this paddle on some else you definitely have to spend a good deal of time using it on yourself first. Only though practice are you really going to learn your own strength and how it affects the movement of this paddle. Now, novice that I am, my pain tolerance is relatively low at this point. Because of that, I stick with light repetitive smacks. Its produces more of a surface sting, as opposed to the deeper thuddy pain that you get when you go all in, which I naively did when I first got it. The lighter faster smacks generate a heat throughout the affected area, which is surprisingly pleasant. When it comes to how it physically feels to wield the Pelt, I found it to be pretty comfortable. I absolutely adore the feel of the silicone. Its powdery soft and I could just pet it all day. Plus, because the handle is also silicone, instead of some other material, you can turn the paddle around and use the handle for a more concentrated thuddy impact, which is convenient. The one area I think improvement can be made is that the handle could be a bit more ergonomic. I love the thickness but the squared edges dig into the hand a bit, which is annoying. If they simply rounded them out more it would be more comfortable, you’d get a better grip, and you wouldn't tire of holding it less quickly. Besides that though I really have nothing to complain about. I might be a novice but I know quality when I see and the Pelt is certainly a quality instrument. I’m not experienced enough to get the most out of it but I’m still glad I bought it. It gives me a goal while also forcing me to learn control. It’s so good that I want to buy the Plunge Paddle as well. I might not be experienced enough for them now but considering they’re made of such quality silicone I’ll have a lifetime to work up to them. I highly recommend.

    For the Paddle Connoisseur

Posted by Rebsy Reviews (Catonsville, MD)

Texture and material construction: The Tantus Pelt is made of 100% ultra-premium silicone. It feels very smooth, almost like velvet. It only comes in black, with the word "Tantus" engraved on the handle. It is three inches wide, and eleven-point-six inches in length. The flatter part of the paddle is very flexible, while the handle is much thicker and isn't flexible whatsoever. It is only available in a black finish. Review Details: I heard from other sex toy reviewers that the Tantus Pelt was a great item to own. They said that the Pelt definitely provides a lot of impact with the slightest flick of the wrist, and ever since trying it out, I have found myself reaching the same conclusion. I have found that the flexibility of the paddle is what allows the user to control the intensity they want when partaking in impact-play. The thinner, flexible side of the paddle provides more of a "smacking" sensation while the thick handle provides more of a "thump" sensation (although there's still a fair amount of the stinging, smacking sensation as well). With that being said, I feel that I'm a bit way over my head with this paddle. Although I love the way the silicone feels against my skin, for me it's like the Hitachi of paddles. Just like how some people feel that they need to cover themselves up when using the Hitachi, I find that I can only use more force while covered up when using this paddle. It's just very intense and overall not a good item for people first exploring impact-play. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. Although my pain tolerance is lower than I originally anticipated, I enjoy the crisp smacks that occur whenever I use the paddle on myself. Granted, the sensation probably wouldn't sting as much if I were to use it on my butt or the back of my thighs. | Overall, I think this would make a great addition to anyone's BDSM tool-kit.
