    Not for me

    Posted by Anonymous

The first and only kegel balls I've used, so it's very possible it's just not my thing. Doing kegels with them in doesn't feel any more challenging than while not wearing them. I have to move my whole body pretty drastically to feel the inner balls moving around, so pleasure isn't really sustainable. Of course, you can just jostle them around with your fingers, but I think you would be better off getting something bigger and easier to manipulate at that point. I still use them on occasion and I want to learn to love them, but I've only used them about five times over the two years I've owned them.

    First benwa ball

    Posted by Anonymous

This was my wife's first ben wa balls and while she was not a huge fan of them at first. She said they were super easy to hold on to but got no pleasure from them during daily routine. She has stated she will give them a try after her pregnancy to see if they make a difference.

    Would probably work for some...

Quality product, from a quality brand. They are quiet and very discreet... it is a little sexy to think about having these in, and it being my little secret. Tried all weight combinations, but none seemed to do a lot for me, or made it any more challenging/stimulating. I think the concept is right, and some may find them challenging. Just didn't do a lot for me.

    Like these on many levels!

Texture and material construction: The set comes with 4 hard plastic balls, two weighing in at 37 grams and 2 at 28 grams, each with a free rolling bead inside to provide the rumbling sensation when they are worn. The set also includes a silicone girdle that allows them to be worn in pairs. The colors, pastel pink, blue, and white, feel a bit clinical/babyish, but also contribute to a clean and subdued appearance. They don't scream "sex toy!" I've left them drying in plain view without any embarrassment. They feel very sturdy. The loop of nylon cord used for removal is soft and unobtrusive, but strong and does not stain or retain odors. Cleaning with soapy water is simple and sufficient. Review Details: I've used a variety of Kegel exercisers in my life, and this is my favorite one by far. It is the best value of any set I have seen; I really like that you get 5 different weight levels with this set (One pink, one blue, two pinks, one pink and one blue, two blues) so you can work your way up as your pelvic floor gets stronger. I find the size of the balls perfect for wearing through the day without feeling overwhelmed of over-stuffed. I also find that they provide the strongest sensation of any of the ball-type exercises I have used. It's very fun to get that little flutter at intervals throughout the day! That said, I don't find these arousing at all. I guess it is nice to be reminded of my vagina during the day, and that makes me feel a little sexier, I guess. But although I don't find them arousing, I do like them a lot. I feel that my pelvic floor has gotten stronger since I started using them. The sensation is really fun. I like to wear mine to yoga class. I like that I can wear them one at a time or two at a time. I also found an unexpected use for these; when I was quitting smoking, I would wear them every day. Whenever I felt them during the day, I would use it as a reminder to tell myself how happy I was that I quit smoking. I still sometimes use them if there is something I want to mindfully focus on or return to frequently. When I wear mine, I put them in in the morning and wear them straight through the day until bed (removing when i use the bathroom.) I am 35, no kids, and could do this right away with the single pink ball as soon as I started using them, no toning up required. I've had them for about 2 years and have not yet worked all the way up to two blues. After two years of use, they are in great shape. Very clean, no staining of the cord or anything. I can't even imagine looking at different brands of Kegel balls at this point. If mine ever give up the ghost, I'll buy a new pair without hesitation.

Pleasure in more ways than one

    Posted by Positwist (Hancock, MI)

Texture and material construction: The girdle is made out of silky, body-safe silicone, and the beads are a hard, non-porous ABS plastic. This is not compatible with silicone-based lube; use water-based lube instead. The LUNA system can be quickly disassembled and washed with antibacterial soap and warm water. Review Details: While I have no idea if the LUNA beads are strengthening my kegel muscles, I do know that they feel wonderful to wear. At 1.4 inches in diameter, these beads are girthy enough to feel when I flex my kegels, but they're slim enough that I don't notice the girth otherwise. The weighted balls that roll around inside the beads are supposed to be a reminder to flex those kegels. For me, these gentle vibes are the selling point of this system: They're surprisingly pleasurable, yet they're unobtrusive enough that I can go about my daily business without getting distracted. The pink beads, weighing in at 28 grams per ball, offer slightly less sensation than the blue beads, which weigh 37 grams per ball. I haven't had trouble inserting the two-bead system, but some women might. It might take some finagling to get these into a comfortable position. A little water-based lube will help, though, and if you're pretend you're trying to position an oddly-shaped tampon, you'll figure it out in a hurry. Five stars for a beautifully made toy that feels great and, as a nice bonus, comes gorgeously packaged with both a storage box and a storage pouch.

    Value and Enjoyment

    Posted by Niama (Anytown, USA)

Texture and material construction: Smooth, though the strings can pinch. Review Details: I love these beads. After two kids, I had lost tone, sensation, and I was starting to have other problems that made me feel rather less than sexy. I haven't been using the beads long, but these have done the trick. I haven't had problems with insertion or retrieval, though the strings can pinch sometimes depending on how the Luna ball has moved around. I have not worked my way up to two beads yet, but I have not regretted buying this set, as I think the Luna beads are an easy to use system. In terms of stimulation, the Luna balls are arousing and give me a pleasant feeling of fullness that I enjoy, but not something that curls the toes. While I don't think that anyone else can hear it, I can hear a slight burring sound as the inner weighted ball rolls around. However, they defiantly get me in the mood to drag my hubs to bed when kids are finally asleep. ;-)

Why I'm Not a Huge Fan

    Posted by Lee (WA)

Texture and material construction: Luna Beads are made of hard ABS plastic with a silicone girdle to hold the balls together. Each outer ball (“foundation ball with retraction leash” in the manual) has a thin cord fused into the 35 millimeter ABS sphere’s seam. The blue ones weigh 37 grams, and the pink ones are 28 grams. The LELO logo is imprinted within the foundation ball with no discernible texture on the outside, however, the balls do have a grooved channel (“nook slot”) to hold the silicone girdle in the correct position around each ball. The materials specifications, both in the paper instruction booklet and online at lelo.com, do not list the composition of the retraction leash. I guessed it was nylon and confirmed this via Dangerous Lilly’s updated Luna Beads review. Thanks, Lilly, for your intrepid research. Review Details: In use: Reclining, I can tilt my pelvis up toward the ceiling a bit and contract my PC muscles to feel a fairly regular clicking rhythm, which is almost pleasurable to me. On my side or standing up, I can make vaguely suggestive humpy motions at the air to the same effect. I find the sensation merely interesting, rather than arousing. Its main benefit is to provide some feedback that I’m accomplishing something with my PC muscles. Overall, I want to like these, but my body won’t let me profess anything more than a mild interest before calling BS. Alas, having had the interesting experience of being catheterized and feeling that bizarre bubbling/gurgling sensation where things are not supposed to bubble/gurgle, I associate the gentle rattling feeling of the weighted balls with that. I can occasionally feel the retraction leash in certain positions. As well, the balls also got a couple of light brown discolored areas (the seam of the top ball and the string of the bottom ball) thanks to a ninja period ambushing me. THANKS PERIOD. I’m a trans guy who’s childfree, over 30, and partial to decently large penetration toys, such as Vixen’s Randy, but I almost always have to use lube and carefully finagle these into place while more girthy toys tend to go in quite easily compared to these little balls. I thought I’d prefer larger Kegel exercisers to smaller ones given my predilections for dildos, but I think my eyes may have been bigger than my PC this time. I’d probably go with the Luna Beads Noir, since they’re black and also the mini size (even though I see they only include one set of 29 mm/37 gram weights). I’m not a fan of the sensation or the color scheme, but it does help remind me to do Kegel exercises when I actually feel like using them. If you’re going to use these when they might get bloody guck on them, be warned that the seams and/or cord may stain. Also, be mindful of bathroom time; you probably don’t want to pee on these or have to make an executive “fish-or-flush” decision. I haven’t had any issues with dropping Kegel balls in the toilet but I know some people who have (with different exercisers besides Luna Beads, though). The LELO lubricant sample is clear and has a slight hospital-clean or Sharpie marker smell to it; it tastes slightly sweet from the aspartame, and it has an alcohol-like bite that numbs the tip of my tongue a teeny bit. Its viscosity is like a very thin hair gel; it doesn’t drip much, it slowly oozes along. When pulled apart between two fingers, it stretches out to between 1 and 2 inches most of the time. | It absorbs into dry skin quickly and without gumminess or tackiness, while a second application will last much longer and get a little sticky. A spritz of water will return the lube to a slippery state and it washes away quickly. Each box of Luna Beads comes with: 2 blue beads 2 pink beads silicone girdle an authenticity card an instruction booklet in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Chinese a satin pouch that holds 2 beads but bulges obscenely if you put all four in a sample of LELO personal moisturizer (ingredients: water, propylene glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, tetrasodium EDTA, panax ginseng extract, paullinia cupana seed extract (guarana), avena sativa bran extract (oat), polysorbate-20, aspartame, polyquaternium 5, PEG-45M, citric acid). Pros: Interesting sensations, multiple weight options, yay for Kegels. Cons: Baby colors, feels like a burbling catheter, heavily gendered packaging and instructions.

Texture and material construction: The beads themselves are hard plastic, and seem to be well made; they have never gotten water inside from washing or anything. The sling is stretchy silicone and holds the beads very securely. They are easy to clean, and the only part that seems mildly unhygienic is the retrieval string. I'm not completely confident that I've ever been able to get it completely clean. Fortunately, I'm not prone to infections down below (or it really is cleaner than it seems), and everything's been fine. Review Details: These do not seem like a sex toy to me. Others have reported extreme pleasure upon feeling the inner balls jiggle, but for me it doesn't feel particularly sexual. I can feel the jiggle if I'm moving around, but it's more likely to surprise me than turn me on. Does it actually help strengthen my Kegel muscles? I think so. It's kind of hard to tell. But if I start having incontinence issues (I've had two kids), I use them for a few days and it seems to help. They don't require any effort to keep in. I think the friction of the silicone holder helps them stay in place, so I sometimes use them without the holder in an attempt to raise the challenge. It's not hard to get them out without the string as long as you're not shy about sticking your fingers in your vagina. As for the adjustable nature of the system, I quickly moved to the heaviest combination and stayed there. I'm not sure the variety of weights makes that much difference. Do I like them? Yes. They are not pleasurable for me, but they seem to work and are not hideously expensive. Two out of three isn't bad, right?

Texture and material construction: The balls are a smooth, body safe plastic. The rings that hold them together are made of a pliable silicone. There is a nylon string on half the balls for removal. Review Details: I was really excited to try these out, but in the end, they were just okay. I find insertion to be a bit tricky if I’m not properly warmed up. Since there are two balls, I have to really work to push them both in. It gets even trickier if I use lube since it’s hard to hold onto them. Once they’re in, everything is fine. The idea of having them in is more exciting than the feeling of them, though. I find that even the heavier balls are a bit hard to feel once inside. Occasionally, I can feel the inner ball tapping around, but I get desensitized to the sensation after a while. It would be exciting to wear these in public, but there is a noticeable tapping when moving around. If you’re in a noisy area, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but I find inserting them makes me hypersensitive to the sound. They’re quality products overall, but I’m a younger woman who hasn’t had children, so these just might not be for me.
