Dr. Vixenne Reviews Bijoux Indiscrets Maze Thin Handcuffs

Review: Bijoux Indiscrets Maze Thin Handcuffs

I was very excited to review something that doesn’t need to be used on bits. When I saw that SheVibe had a few things from Bijoux available for review I took a peek at their items. I was drawn to the harnesses, but was disappointed to see that they were not fat friendly. Not surprising, really. Luckily, I could review a pair of handcuffs.

So, without further ado…

Full disclosure, I have not had a chance to use the Bijoux cuffs with a partner, I have worn them lots of times as a bracelet. For shits and giggles I have placed myself into both cuffs. In the photo to the left, I was hanging at Wicked Grounds with my amazing friend LaTerra, who took this photo. I slipped both my hands into the cuffs (while saying, “Houdini!”) and then proceeded to sip my iced latte. I’m a goofball.

These handcuffs are fairly lightweight and comfy to wear. When they jingle, they aren’t super quiet but they aren’t loud either. I’m not sure that the links and other “gold” accents are actual metal. The sound they make when they move, or when I shake them doesn’t fully convince me…also I tried placing a magnet against them because science (hat tip to my brother for that suggestion).

One of the best comments I received was while wearing the Bijoux Maze cuffs as a bracelet. Educator Andy said that it’s like flagging for femmes. As a femme, I love that! In fact, that’s part of why I wear these Bijoux cuffs as jewelry when I dress up a tiny bit to go about my day. It’s not that I’m hoping to have a BDSM scene while shopping at Trader Joe’s, but if it catches the eye of the cute, queer-looking, checkout person and we flirt a bit, that’s fun!

When I wear the Maze Thin Handcuffs, I wear them on my left wrist (even though I’m not flagging as a Top), it’s just more convenient since I’m right-handed. My left wrist is 7.5 inches around. I wear them buckled on the second to last hole and they are quite roomy. There are four holes total; two that would be tighter than the one I wear it on. I am able to fasten the cuffs at the first and second notches. The first notch fits pretty snuggly, not quite tight; I can shift it around a little. I would not fasten them on the first notch if I were legit using them for bondage because that would get tight quick.

PSA: Make sure you can slip in at least one finger, preferably two fingers between the wrist and the cuff.

Fastening the cuff on the second notch, I am able to fit two fingers through but it feels comfortable and secure. The description on SheVibe’s site says that “One size fits most” and I would agree with that. If your wrists are up to ~9 ¾ inches around (based on where the fourth notch is), then the Bijoux Indiscrets Maze Thin Handcuffs could work for you.

How ‘Thin’ Are They?

It should be noted that “thin” is in the name of these cuffs. The Bijoux Indiscrets Maze Thin Handcuffs measure 0.5 inch wide. Any narrower, in my opinion, and they’d feel super delicate. At this width, they feel secure and comfortable without being bulky.
